Sometimes Clients Need to Start Slowly
Get the Word Out
You will find that many potential clients are up to their eyeballs in work and have their fingers in so many things. Then to top it off, they just don’t know what to give up or how to give up their to do list to a VA. What do you, as a VA, do?
Become a Master Craftsman
We know it’s difficult, but the first thing you need to do is have your client sit down and write out their to do list. Then break that list down into two parts:
1. Tasks they know they have to accomplish on their own
2. Tasks that can be accomplished by a VA
Impress upon the client that VAs provide freedom. As far as giving up their tasks to a VA, as Nike says, “Just Do It.” Start simply. For example, ask them to give you a stack of business cards and enter them into a contacts database. Once that task is complete, perhaps they can have you make changes to their website and then continue on down the list.
When the client chooses you, they will have a partner in their business…someone who is as concerned about their success as they are. You will begin to know what the client needs before they even realize they need it. Ah, the power of a VA!
