Are You a Revolutionary Virtual Assistant?

Motivation, Virtual Assistance

Recently in the Virtual Assistant Revolution a question was posed…”What Does Being Revolutionary Mean to You?” Here’s my take on it:

Revolutionary means different things to different people. To some it means money, maximum billable hours, fame, prestige, a big list, a book, speaking engagements, etc. To others it can simply be doing what you are called to do.

After talking with a GREAT woman this morning, she changed my perspective about what revolutionary means to me. I personally “feel” most revolutionary when I am bringing in maximum money, maximum clients, maximum billable hours, maximum, maximum, maximum. However when it comes down to it, I need to focus on making sure that what I am doing is what I am called to do…what’s in my goals, my future plan, etc.

To be honest, I find it an encouragement, not a discouragement to hear about the struggles of other business owners because it just shows me that others are human and that they will come out on top. I just can’t buy that people never have downs throughout the life-cycle of their business. Sometimes we really need to be broken down so we can dust ourselves off and be bigger and better than who we were before.

As business owners, we are all going to face ups and downs in our business, that’s a fact. It doesn’t make us any less of a virtual assistant, person, entrepreneur or someone who doesn’t walk the talk.

You are revolutionary!!!

Viva La Revolution!!!!

I’m not sure that I think I’m great, but I do like hearing about the ups and downs of other VAs. I think too often, we get caught up in money, how much, what’s in it for me…you know… because it’s easy to do. But when we stop and think, and we follow where the Lord takes us, we begin to realize that it’s not all about how much money you make or how popular you are. What matters is that you’re doing what you were meant to do, even if it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense or is a little scary.

I am greatful that you’re supportive of me. :)

I’ve never been a roller-coaster type person. I don’t like it in my life and I don’t like it in my finances. Of course we all have ups and downs, but having a plan and sticking to it helps us not feel the bumps as much.

You’re right that it’s not all about money, but money does help. My goal is to have a year’s expenses in my business account and then draw a salary from it. At that point I won’t even notice the financial ups and downs associated with being a business owner.

I’m meme-ing you. You can find the rules here: http://www.crystalvisionsonline.com/archives/64

Revolutionary to me means being yourself and doing what is right for you, rather than being a sheep in a herd. Not always easy to do. It often means too that you stand out from the crowd!

Becki, I’ve just tagged you in a meme. See http://vadirectory.net/blog/2008/02/09/7-weird-things-about-me/ for full details!
